Inside Our New RV

Now that we actually have it we can work on preparing for our first short trip to a local state park to familiarize ourselves with it and ultimately our first major trip to the Northwestern U.S.A. and British Columbia this summer.  Here’s a look inside our new rig.

Kitchen

It’s a 2012 Keystone Montana Mountaineer 346LBQ.  This particular model is 39′ long and has 4 slideouts and an outdoor kitchen.  Charity fell in love with the indoor kitchen however and especially liked the wrap around bar where the sink is.  This will give her a place to be to prepare food while the kids can be in the living area without stepping on each other.  There is also significant counter space and lots of cabinets which is always a plus.

The master bedroom suite is also quite amazing and includes a dresser, nice size closet, small night stands, and has a cabinet next to the closet with shelves.  This cabinet is equipped for washer/dryer hookup and the shelves are removable.  For us it makes the perfect place to create a workstation for Jeremiah to setup his computer in order to be able to work on the road.  The full bath next to the master bedroom is accessible from either the bedroom or the hallway.

The living room and dinette are quite spacious because they are both part of one giant slideout.  There’s lots of cabinet space above as well for storage and both make out to beds should we have people staying with us.  This is really a nice setup.  The bunk room at the back of the trailer is also really nice and consists of two bunks and another couch that makes into a bed.  Since we have three kids of the age to be needing a bed we may end up replacing this couch for a third bunk.  One of the really nice luxuries of this RV is the second half bath which is off of the bunk room and also accessible from a second outside door.  I think this will be especially nice when the kids need to run in to use the bathroom or come in from being outside and are a filthy mess.  It should help contain the mess and keep the other parts of the RV cleaner.

In addition to the inside, I’m super excited about the basement storage which is really large and accessible from either side of the RV.  The outdoor kitchen and grill setup are going to be handy as well.  We’re very happy with our purchase and looking forward to getting to use it to see some amazing places with our family.
